"Inveniam viam aut faciam"
If you went to the Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland like I did, then you know this phrase. It's ingrained in your memory. The school's motto is a powerful one, and one that has guided my mindset ever since I learned it.
The translation for "inveniam viam aut faciam" is "I will find a way or make one". Pretty direct and powerful.
I take a "find a way or make one" approach to everything I set out to do. No, it isn't always going to be easy. The answer is not always going to be readily apparent. But if you try hard and push through, chances are you will achieve your goal.
Nowhere in my life is the "find a way or make one" approach more readily apparent than in my work. Event planning and production is a difficult line of work. It's not all glamour and fine food, although I'm not going to lie, there are some perks. But it's stressful and problems arise one after the other. You need to find solutions to marry different tastes, cultures, belief systems, etc. You need to look at all the different factors, analyze them and think outside the box to solve the issue. You need to find ways or make them.
